After opening the box and playing around with buttons I took my first picture.I wanted a camera with wifi so I could post pictures on the run. I snapped the picture and went to task to post the picture asap! (I hate instruction books) so I fumbled my way through the setup process.I have a hotspot so wifi is always available.. I have the cutest puppy in the world and I need to share her perfect face with the facebook world.. I have to say it went rather well. I personally find the camera intuitive. I was setup and logged in to facebook in just a few short minutes. Then BAM! My picture was posted for the world to see

User friendly and normally takes outstanding images. The wifi feature is awesome as I take a great deal of still photos in my home. When i will not have hrs to perform an effective evaluate for this excellent digital camera, but I can quickly share the high points. It has great "human factor" engineering, meaning it fits your hands like a glove and all the controls are easy to access. The camera/lens combo is very light and easy to handle. If you have any Minolta lenses, they fit. The ability to view the picture on the large, bright LCD instead of through the viewfinder is a definite plus in many situations. 14+ megapixels,truly, what number of more do you really need?

Performance wise, the camera seems to be greatly improved from the older Alpha 100. Image Quality (IQ), both sharpness and color wise, appear to be very good. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to do critical, side-by-side, low-light/high ISO testing, something which is of a possible concern with such a high megapixel CCD sensor. Visually, those images I shot in poor lighting appeared reasonably good, but more serious testing needs to be done.

Sold my Nikon P500 on Ebay. It had been a terrific camera even so the 36X zoom lens had been difficult to control without a tripod. I photograph birds in central Pennsylvania and needed a camera that was capable of taking quick shots while on the move. I had a Panasonic Lumix with an 18X zoom but wanted something a little stronger. The Fuji S4200 meets all of my requirements. I love the simplicity of the contols as well as their locations. Finally got the perfect shot of a tufted titmouse that was nearly fifty yards away. The only issues I'm able to gripe regarding would be the place of the cards position that is into the battery pack pocket plus the band positioning lugs which are far too smaller for a large cushioned camera band. Would My spouse and i point out the price that is minimal enough to help countertop the down sides?

The camera is not an entry-level DSLR, but contains enough features that it will give you that feeling. It has more advanced features than a standard point and shoot. The focus takes some getting used to but for $200, it was a good purchase. I use it for fashion shoots and I get very good stills, but have not tried the video since I already use a High Definition camcorder for our video work I like the fact that I can make manual adjustments for more complex shots.. Since I have had it a very short time, will give better review when I have had time to play with it. BTW, very sturdy built like the more expensive SLR cameras that are out there.
